Idea to creation of my project
To start my clock I knew I wanted by main base to be 3-D printed. Once I knew this is where I wanted to start I got working. In a class period or two I finished my design and did all the editing I needed in maker bot. I saved it onto my hard drive and just needed to wait for a 3-D printer to open up. Next I knew I wanted my number to be cut out on the vinyl cutter. I went onto adobe illustrator and typed in all the number I needed. I outlined all the numbers and went on down to the vinyl cutter. In a minute or two all of my numbers were cut out and I was finished with that part. Now I only needed to use one more machine so I decided I would laser engrave my name into a piece of matt paper. I went onto adobe illustrator again and typed out my name. I edited so that it would engrave into the matt paper and not cut it out. I went on down to the laser engraver and let it go to work. In a couple minutes my name was engraved and now I only needed my object to 3-D print. I finally got a 3-D printer for myself and let the machine go to work. After 6 hours my base was completed and I put everything together. I popped the clock box into the bottom of my base, taped the number on top, and glued my name to the top. After about 4 or 5 class periods my clock was finished and it looked pretty good.

Summary of what I learned
I only learned a little bit from this rotation because I have already used all of the machines I needed use to complete this project. I was pretty good with the 3-D printing part so I was able to make my clock on inventor, edit it on maker bot, and have it printed off on the 3-D printer in a short amount of time. Next I had to make my number on adobe illustrator and edit them so that they would be cut out properly. This was probably the quickest one because I did everything I needed on adobe in about 5 minutes. I went down to the vinyl cutter and had it printed out. Now I just needed to use one more machine. This one also went pretty quick because it involved adobe. I edited my name on adobe and was ready for it to be laser engraved. I went onto the computer linked to the laser engraver and let the engraver go to work. In a couple minutes it was finished and all I needed to do was put my clock together. In about 5 minutes I put it together and it look great. In about 5 class periods I completed my clock and it looked exactly how I had wanted it.
